Lending a Paw to Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue

The floors at Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue have seen a lot of traffic. The organization has been around for 15 years and saved over 2,700 dogs! Last week, our Valu Crew volunteers gave the floors a fresh coat of paint.

Buffalo Pug & Small Breed Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs through owner surrender or shelter overpopulation. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, they are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year. They provide them with medical care, loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes.

The crew used UGL Drylok E1 epoxy floor paint, which is just about as close to dog-proof as you can get!

Despite their name, Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue finds loving homes for pups of all shapes and sizes. When we visited, the dogs ranged from Teddy the 5-pound Pomeranian (featured in the video above) to a Great Dane named Artemis.

Valu Crew gives Valu Home Centers team members the opportunity to put their DIY knowledge to use in the community.

Since the first Valu Home Center was opened in 1968, we have been committed to giving back to the communities that we serve. We are proud of our hands-on involvement in the community, and we feel it is our responsibility to give back to the people of the cities and towns where our stores are located. Valu Crew enables any member of the Valu Home Centers team to take an active role in bettering our community and to amaze our customers with our hard work and dedication.

Drylok E1 is the perfect paint to fend off the onslaught of dirty paws, slobber, and occasional 'accidents' that these floors are sure to see.

It took a couple coats, but when all was said and done the difference was astounding! We're proud to continue our 50-year tradition of giving back to local, deserving organizations like Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue.
