In our 17th year of fundraising for The Salvation Army, we are thrilled to present them with a donation of $36,250 in support of the essential services that they provide for our community!
Their efforts include recreational, spiritual, educational, and social programs to assist those in need. Salvation Army programs are open to people of all ages and are focused on building character, confidence, and capacity for excellence within under-served communities. From emergency disaster relief, to veterans affairs, to housing and homeless services, The Salvation Army provides a wide range of critical services.
We presented this donation to Salvation Army representatives in Buffalo NY, with additional presentations in Elmira, NY, Syracuse, NY and Erie, PA in the near future. We believe that it’s important to give where you live, so all of the money collected during this campaign will stay with local Salvation Army affiliates.
Valu Home Centers proudly covers the administrative costs associated with this campaign so that 100% of the funds collected are donated directly. This year’s donation of $36,250 brings Valu’s total contribution to The Salvation Army since 2001 up to $800,000!
We thank you for your generosity. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners at WIVB News 4, WNLO CW 23, WETM News 18, CW 15, WSEE News 12 , and CNY Central for their support of this fundraising campaign.
In order to carry out their work, The Salvation Army depends on the support of our community. There are a variety of ways you can partner with The Salvation Army to change lives, including:
Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to support those services, so a large database of volunteers is critical to the success of their programs.
