Feed Mill

We sell several brands of livestock feed.

Sweet Stock feed

This is a 12% protein product with molasses and added vitamins and minerals for feeding beef animals at all stages of life. The formula, which contains a 40% pellet, crimped corn, barley and oats, is set, meaning that we don't change the formula and add more barley and take out corn just because barley is less costly. This approach ensures the feed is consistent and prevents animals from going off feed. Offered in 50 and 100 lb bags.

Easy Beef

This is an 11% sweet beef feed with no added vitamins or minerals. It consists of corn, barley, wheat mids pellets and molasses. There is no vitamin & mineral pack in this mix and it is designed to be an economical alternative to compete with straight commodity pellets. Offered in 50lb bags.

Hog Grower

Our Hog grower is finely ground (mash) and mixed at a 15% protein level. It is fully fortified with vitamins and minerals. It is great for raising butchering hogs and for gestating and nursing sows.

Layer Mash

Our layer mash uses distillers grain and soybean meal to make a 15% protein that will provide nutrition for chickens to lay eggs. These ingredients along with local grains and plenty of calcium keep your hens healthy and egg shells hard. Being a finely ground feed, you will need to take extra care when feeding to reduce feed waste..

Scratch feed

Our scratch feed is a three part mix of whole grain wheat and barley and crimped corn. In by gone days, after a day of making a variety of feeds, the mills would sweep up everything on the floor and bag it up. They would then throw it on the ground for chickens to "scratch" trough, thus the name scratch feed.

Wildlife Corn

Our wildlife corn is a 50 lb bag of local whole corn with added liquid molasses. It is illegal to bait or feed deer in Virginia.

Additional notes:

  • We sell Whole (shelled) Corn and Ground Corn in 50 lb and 100 lb bags and Oates in 50 lb bags!
  • 50 lb bags of feed cost more to bag and handle and therefore are generally higher per lb that in 100 lb bags
  • All feeds listed above are available in "bulk" meaning not bagged. Generally, bulk feeds cost less per lb but may have additional cost such as delivery and handling fees.
  • In addition to the feeds above, we do custom grinding and mixing. For custom mixes, ingredients are billed at the bulk rate, but are subject to grinding, crimping, mixing and bagging fees. Any feed bags used are also billed.
