Los Alamos is a hiking and walking paradise.  With easy access to over 50 miles of county trails, as well as the nearby Valles Caldera, Santa Fe National Forest, and of course Bandelier National Monument.  The staff at Metzger’s Hardware recognizes how lucky we are to live in a place like this, and works hard to find unique products that fit the needs of our customers.

Brazos Walking Sticks brings us just such a product.  They are the largest manufacturer of American-made, handcrafted walking sticks in North America.  At the same time, they are a small, low-tech family run business that offers what we believe to be the finest handcrafted American-made walking sticks and canes. Each item is individually handcrafted by individual artisans in their home-based workshops. They call it “a cottage industry.” And Most of their sticks and canes are made from hardwood saplings, which means no two are alike. They require intensive labor and craftmanship and cannot be massed produced.
