Located in Greencastle, IN, Headley Do it Best Hardware has been in business for over 60 years and is in its fourth generation of family ownership.

We sell top rated Valspar paints; and have been the largest single Do it Best Valspar store in the USA for two years in a row. We have two complex paint mixing stations including color analysis for your convenience. We also sell Cabot, Zak, Duckback and Min-wax stains.

We also specialize in selling commercial janitorial and cleaning supplies; including toilet paper, hand towels, can liners and hand soaps. We also offer contractor pricing to all general contractors, remodelers, electricians, painters and plumbers. We offer in house charge accounts for all qualified businesses, churches, contractors and individuals. We are also one of the highest volume hardware stores in the country for ice melt and salt.

We have been re-distributing to the contractors around west central Indiana for over 30 years. Whether you’re a general contractor, a remodeler, or have a specific trade such as painter, plumber or electrician, we can offer the same pricing as the Indianapolis Wholesalers. For the smaller contractor we offer 10% and 15% discounts off retail. If you ask any of our contractor customers they’ll tell you the convenience and time savings are just important as our pricing. However, taking care of the public is our mission. When you come in at our hardware we will ask you if you need help. We always take you to the area you need to go to. We don’t say ok it’s on aisle 12. There aren’t many hardware stores left like us. We depend on you and you depend on us. It’s been like that since 1954 and always will. I gain an edge by coming in, by seeking out the knowledge, the problem-solving, the patience, of the people who work there. These guys don't just mix paint and rebuild screen doors, they listen, visualize, sketch stuff out. They defer to one another. Finding a good hardware-store clerk is like finding an older brother who knows something. A great hardware store, like Headley's, is like falling into a family of them. These guys don't sell as much as work to discover what you need and what you should do about it. They give answers. They just give them away.
