Louisville Habitat ReStore to Benefit from the Generosity of Brownsboro Hardware & Paint

Louisville, KY – Many homes in the Louisville area will be getting a colorful facelift, thanks to the generosity of Brownsboro Hardware & Paint. Not only that, but more homes in the city also will be built as a result.

The company recently donated some $10,000 in new paint to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. ReStore will have the paint available for customers at reduced rates at their two retail locations, and proceeds from the sales will go to help more local families in need of affordable housing.

“Community support from generous donors such as Brownsboro Hardware is why the Habitat ReStore is successful,” said Angela Brooks, Director of the Louisville Habitat ReStore. “This paint donation that their crew tinted in different shades of blues, greens and oranges, is a great, popular item to sell at the Habitat ReStore. It generates thousands of dollars in income that supports Habitat Louisville’s mission of transforming lives and strengthening our community through the power of homeownership.”

“We are passionate about helping our community,” added Jim Lehrer, co-owner of Brownsboro Hardware & Paint.” The loyalty and support of our existing customers enables us to ‘pay it forward’ with this gift of paint to the Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores. It is fitting that a hardware and paint store such as ours is able to provide supplies that will help people paint their homes and assist in building new ones.

The donated paint is available for purchase at the two Louisville Habitat ReStore locations – Hikes Point ReStore (4044 Taylorsville Rd., 40220) and the Portland Neighborhood ReStore (1631 Rowan St., 40203). Visit the ReStore’s website at louisvillehabitat.org/restore for store hours and contact information.

“The Louisville Habitat ReStore is grateful for Brownsboro Hardware’s paint donation,” added Brooks. “Through the support of community-minded partners like Brownsboro Hardware, the proceeds from the sale of their donations will be reinvested back into Habitat’s mission to help local families build stable, affordable housing.”

Known for its product quality and tremendous service, Brownsboro Hardware & Paint recently celebrated its 61st anniversary. Recently, a national hardware magazine, HBS Dealer, awarded the store its “Superstar” recognition for being the top hardware store in Kentucky over the past decade.

Brownsboro Hardware & Paint has two locations - 4858 Brownsboro Road in Louisville, and 9521 US 42 in Prospect. Visit Brownsborohardware.com for additional information. Editor’s Note: A photo of the loading of paint into ReStore’s truck is attached.
