Justin Wisniewski Testimonial

Justin Wisniewski Testimonial

By Ben Watters

Justin Wisniewski (The Wiz) of Profinish Concrete began his construction career as a teen helping his uncle and grandfather on Long Island NY. Still a teen but now in Bloomington, he took advantage of Hoosier Hills “Building Trades” 2-year program. This would build a love for building and help point him in the right direction.

Justin got plenty of exposure to many trades. In the early years he gained experience in drywall, roofing, excavation, and remodeling before settling down working for Tracy Blackwell (P and B Construction).  He soon fell in love with concrete work and loved the creativity the flat work allowed.

As Tracy mentored Justin, he took it all in. He learned his skill but also made note of Tracy’s values, like honesty and integrity. Watching Tracy, and how he built his business, would be a big influence on how Justin would establish his own.

In 2010, and after a few other challenging partnerships, Justin felt it was time to venture out on his own.  He built his business on “word of mouth” anchored in trust, loyalty and a job well done.  After a few successful pours, the phone started to ring, and “Profinish Concrete” was on its way.

Justin does not take credit for the success; he feels having a competent and loyal crew is paramount. These days finding good crew members is tough, that’s why he knows if you have  great employees, you had better work hard to keep them. It was Steven Covey who said, “Always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your very best customers.” This quote resonates with Justin and demonstrates how he feels about his crew.

Profinish Concretes success is not limited to the crew, as Justin’s wife Holly is also a driving force for the business. Doing much of the office and clerical work, Holly’s efforts keep him on the job creating beautiful finishes.

As a long time and trusted customer of Bender Lumber and Bender Concrete Supply, he knows Bender Companies will go out of their way to deliver exceptional customer service. Many times, either store manager Ed Craig or Concrete Supply salesman Brad Byford, will meet Justin even on a Sunday afternoon while the store is closed to solve a problem or provide the exceptional service mentioned earlier.  Justin considers his Bender Lumber team of Ed and Brad friends and business partners.

Much has changed over the years as new technology in the concrete world is advancing swiftly. Keeping up has been no problem for Justin. You might say the future is bright for Profinish Concrete as his second son Grayson has taken an interest in being an entrepreneur, and oldest son Jake studying Mechanical Engineering. One day Profinish will be stacked with young talent, what a day that will be.
