Paint Problems: Checking
 Checking is the result of applying too many coats of paint to the substrate without scraping off previous layers. The paint film, since it's too thick, becomes heavy and pulls the paint layers off the substrate. To correct this problem, all paint layers should be removed to the bare wood then reprime and paint.
